If you missed any of my other cleaners you can find them here
This is the last part in my 4 part series on homemade cleaners. I really hope they came in good use and you liked them as much as I do.
There is a reason I saved my All Purpose Cleaner for last. This is my absolute favorite cleaner. I use this on just about everything. I clean my kitchen with it, I clean my bathroom with it, and I even clean my toilet with it. I know exactly what is in it and I even let my son help me clean without the fear of rough chemicals coming in contact with him. So here is how I make it.
You will want to be sure to add the vinegar and super washing soda in first so it has room to react in the bottle and not overflow and explode (I learned that the hard way).
After the vinegar and super washing soda have settled a bit, add the rest of the ingredients and swish it around about to get it all mixed up. Put on the lid and you can start cleaning!
Homemade All Purpose Cleaner
1/2 teaspoon Sal’s suds (I found mine on amazon)
1 teaspoon Borax
1 teaspoon Super Washing Soda
1/2 Cup Vinegar
2 Cups Hot Water
25-30 drops of essential oil (I used tea tree oil)
Mix the vinegar and washing soda and let it sit 5 minutes. Add the rest of ingredients and mix lightly. Start Cleaning!!

I don’t know how much money I used to spend a month on dishwasher soap. That stuff gets expensive, especially when you have to run your dishwasher every night. There is an alternative to store bought cleaner. You can easily make it yourself and I am going to show you how
You will need 4 simple things. borax, super washing soda, citric acid, and kosher salt (the salt acts as a scrubbing agent).
Start by measuring all of your ingredients and adding them into the container you will be using. I just used plastic Tupperware.
Once you add everything in it, be sure to seal it with a tight lid because if the citric acid gets wet it will start to clump up and you will have very clumpy dishwasher soap
1 Cup of Borax
1 Cup of Super Washing Soda
1/2 Cup of Citric Acid
1/2 Cup of Kosher Salt
Mix all ingredients until combined and seal with a tight lid.
Note: Instead of buying an expensive rinsing agent, try adding vinegar into your dish washer. You dishes will come out sparkling and for a lot cheaper.

This Cleaner is really simple to make, but leaves my windows and mirrors sparkling! There is nothing worse than trying to get ready in the morning and not being able to see clearly because your mirrors have streaks from when you tried to clean them last. You won’t have that problem with this cleaner.
You will need to find a spray bottle to use and mark it with a label. I just used a simple piece of tape. I’m sure if you’re a crafty person you could make a cute little label for it.
Gather your ingredients together and mix them all up.
Homemade Glass Cleaner
2 Cups of Water
1/4 Cup of Vinegar
1 Tbs of Corn Starch
1/4 Cup of Rubbing Alcohol
Add all of the ingredients together inside of a spray bottle and shake it up until it is mixed well.
As I promised in my previous post http://redfoxcandle.com/2013/4-amazing-homemade-cleaners-will-save-money/ I will be sharing with you today my homemade laundry detergent.
This detergent works really well. I have been using it for the past year. I have a 4 year old who is constantly getting his clothes dirty including potty training accidents and I have not had a problem with getting his clothes clean. It has a nice fresh scent and I just love using it.
First you will need to gather your ingredients. You will need to add one cup of borax and one cup of super washing soda to the container you will be using.
Then you will need to grate your soap
and grate, and grate and grate until the whole bar of soap is grated.
Add the grated soap into the container you will be storing the detergent in and mix it up.
Laundry Detergent Recipe
1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Super Washing Soda
1 Bar of Ivory soap
Mix the borax and super washing soda together in the container really well. Using a cheese grater, grate your bar of ivory soap until it is all grated. Mix into the container with the other ingredients. Use 1 Tablespoon of detergent in your load of laundry (If its a smelly load I will toss in a tablespoon of citric acid).
I’m so excited because over the next couple of weeks I am going to share with you some recipes of the homemade cleaners that I make and use. These recipes will not only save you money but they clean your home and clothes really well.
I have been making and using my cleaners for about a year now. I am so glad I changed from store bought cleaners to homemade cleaners. One big benefit of making your own cleaners is that I am not scared to let my child help me clean now because I know exactly what is in it. My son even loves helping me make them.
I will be sharing with you my homemade laundry detergent, homemade glass/window cleaner, homemade dishwasher soap, and homemade all-purpose cleaner. All of these cleaners are wonderful in keeping my house clean and saving my family money so we can use it on other things.
I have added another amazing product on my site. This cute little cup of coffee will go great in you home and smell amazing too! All those coffee lovers can now enjoy the amazing scent of coffee anytime of day. Not just in the morning!!
I’ve added several items to our inventory today. These are very special items, as they are all necklaces which were handmade by my grandmother.
Each one is unique, so these would be a great gift for anybody that you care about as just as much love and care was put into their creation.
So, my family and I enjoyed a very long and relaxing 4 day weekend. We decided to get out of town and drive 99 miles to Phoenix. It was a few degrees hotter than here in Tucson but just getting out of town for a couple of days was worth it.
We left Friday afternoon around 3pm and got to our hotel around 5pm. We decided to check out a local Pizza place called big boys pizza. The pizza was pretty good but it took close to 45 minutes just to get it to our table. After that we went to Bass pro shop to check out a new gun safe for my husband. We left Bass Pro shop and headed to the hotel for the night.
We started Saturday with a dip in the hot tub. My son can’t stay in a hotel without getting to at least go swimming for a little bit. Saturday was a full day of shopping for us. My sister and her family met us for the day. We got to go do Ikea, Fry’s electronics, and Arizona mills mall. I bought a dress for my sister-in-laws upcoming wedding and a few other clothes that I needed(wanted). We ended up meeting my sister-in-law and her fiance for dinner at chili’s and ran into a bunch of Peace protesters(they didn’t sounds all the peaceful to me).
Sunday as another day of shopping(mostly looking) around. We went to two malls and finally found one with a play area for our son. We let him play for about an hour before we headed back home.
Monday which of course was Labor day we spent laboring over some yard work. We spent about 2 hours in the morning pulling up bamboo that we have been trying to get rid of for about 3 years. I think we finally got it this time. We pulled it up and dug up all the roots. That night we grilled burgers and had the in-laws over for dinner and a movie. We watched a movie called Hugo. Pretty cute family friendly movie that kept us adults entertained as well as our almost 4 year old.
Well that was My long and relaxing weekend. What did everyone else do? Did you get a 3 or 4 day weekend?
As I promised before I told you I would share a sneak peek of the upcoming necklaces my grandmother has made. All are unique and beautifully made by her.
So here they are! Keep a lookout for more to come on the website. I’ll keep you all posted!
